Frequently Asked Questions

What Does a Postpartum Doula do?

A postpartum doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support to families after the birth of a baby. They help new parents adjust to life with their newborn by offering guidance on newborn care, breastfeeding, and cultivating a smooth transition into parenthood. They also assist with household tasks, provide respite for parents, and offer a listening ear, ensuring families feel supported and confident as they get to know their newest family member.

How is a Postpartum Doula Different from a Nanny or a Babysitter?

A postpartum doula focuses on supporting the whole family’s transition after birth, whereas a babysitter or nanny is primarily focused on the care and supervision of the child..

How Many Hours of Support can I Schedule per Shift?

For daytime shifts I have a 2 hour minimum and a 6 hour maximum.

For overnight shifts there is a 4 hour minimum and an 8 hour maximum.
